Text Proverbs 3:5-6.
5Trust in the LORD with all thine
heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In
all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Introduction.
3.
The danger of
losing focus.
4.
The value of
planning for life.
Focusing Your Life Requires
Dependence
5Trust in the LORD means to depend on Him fully.
The
original Hebrew means to lay helplessly face down.
16;20
20He that handleth a matter
wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the
LORD, happy is he.
28:25
25 He who
is of a proud heart stirs up strife,
But
he who trusts in the Lord will be
prospered. (nkjv).
29:25
The fear of man brings a snare,
But
whoever trusts in the Lord shall
be safe.
30:5
Every word of God is
pure;
He is
a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
Focusing Your Life Requires
Dedication
with all thine heart means to be
fully dedicated to Him.
It means that we trust
without doubt without wavering
It means proceeding without a
backup plan
James tells us what it does
not mean
James 1:5-8
5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who
gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But
let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the
sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7For let not that man suppose
that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a
double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Focusing Your Life
Requires Discipline
Do not lean unto your own
understanding is the hardest part of trusting.
2.
Trusting your own
understanding in doing things that you do not understand.
Focusing Your Life Requires
Discernment
To acknowledge God requires discernment.
The word “acknowledge” mean
“to recognize”
“To recognize” is “to
discern”
Key words here are “in” &
“all”
Commit all that we do unto
God.
Prov. 16:3
3 Commit
your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be
established.
Focusing Your Life Requires Direction
The
end of the trusting process is simply this.
“and He shall direct
they paths”
He shall make your paths straight.
Trusting
is an act of absolute Surrender and it leads to absolute victory.
Text Proverbs 3:5-6.
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
There is only one way up and you just
have to trust Him
